National Three Peaks
The National Three Peaks Challenge is probably the best known walking challenge
in the UK, and because of this has a standard completion time of 24 hours. The Three
Peaks involves climbing the highest mountain in England, Wales and Scotland.
The Mountains
The National Three Peaks takes in
Ben Nevis,
Scafell Pike and Snowdon, in either order, heading south from Scotland,
or north from Wales.
Extended versions of the Three Peaks Challenge include the
Four, Five and
Six Peaks Challenges, adding further peaks in Northern Ireland, Republic
of Ireland, and the Isle of Man.
